accelerated freefall course (AFF)
Accelerated freefall or AFF, is the course of instruction to teach you the basic skydiving skills needed to become a sport skydiver.
Each AFF Level is carefully designed to introduce new skills that are all put together on the Level 7.
For your first 3 levels two instructors will take you to an altitude around 13,000ft. We jump out of the plane holding onto you. We give you in air signals based on our assessment of your body position.

Over the course of the first 3 levels you earn the right to have us release you. We aim to stay by your side once released and give you in air signals where appropriate.
When you have demonstrated the ability to open your own parachute at the correct altitude, your next 4 levels will be with one instructor.
Upon graduation, you are a novice parachutist who has shown competency to do a solo skydive. You will be certified to jump on your own. This will usually take about a month to complete. Your jumps are at the weekend only.
Our instructors are rated by the United States Parachute Association after a period of study where this program of teaching was originally developed.
how long does it take?
There is no guarantees in this sport. We are at the mercy of the weather. However we typically will do 2 or 3 jumps in a good day. How quickly you graduate is also based on your own progress on the course.
We have a small weather station on the drop zone and have a strict policy of not jumping in conditions deemed unsuitable by our Chief Club Instructor.
Once training is complete your jumps can be done each Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays, how long it takes is weather dependant. Our instructors are on standby at all times and will jump immediately in suitable conditions.
how much does it cost?
The cost of this intensive programme is €1080. This includes everything you need, including equipment, club membership etc.
You only need to pay for each level as you do it:
- €299 for Level 1
- €200 for Levels 2 - 3
- €115 for Levels 4 - 7
